Music

I love bringing songs to life, both well-known and hidden gems, with my own unique touch. Recently I started writing my own songs too in Dutch and English. Inspired by life, love and loss my music is all about creating moments that swing, move you, and leave a smile on your face.

I’ve been singing since I was young, but my passion for music truly flourished after graduating from the Academy of Arts Acting & Singing in 2004 and touring with my one-music theatre shows alongside great musicians. My performances are rooted in the rich sounds of music that swings, stirs emotions, and brings joy. I also sing some Jiddish, Dutch music and a little French.

I love connecting with people through these timeless genres, whether at an intimate dinner, a wedding, a birthday, for the elderly or a larger corporate event. Anything is possible, from a cozy duo to a small band.

Between 2014 and 2016, I performed a series of living room concerts featuring soulful blues and vintage jazz, accompanied by guitar and trumpet. Over the years, I’ve built a versatile repertoire, blending hidden gems with beloved classics. For me, singing blues, jazz, and soul is all about creating a connection and sharing the power of music to move and inspire.

“She has a voice that makes you feel like everything she sings is spot on.”

“An impressive voice that speaks nothing but the truth.”

Repertoire

Musically, no style is too wild for me, but I feel most home in Blues and songs that tell a story. I enjoy singing in English and Dutch, and I’ve also sung in French, Yiddish, and Russian. For my one-woman shows, I’ve had the pleasure of working with various musicians like pianists: Alberto Klein Goldewijk, Rob Stoop, Nettie Krull and Nicolaas Duin, cellist: Jonas Pap, guitarists: Robin Scherpen, Vincent Pino, Gerrit de Boer and trumpet player: Gerben Klein Willink, and double bassist: Jet Stevens.

In 2013, I released my album Bloed Link (listen on Spotify), which explores my Jewish-Russian roots. The album is filled with Dutch and international influences, featuring both original and existing songs sung in multiple languages.

Due to my bilingualism, I often sing in English, but also in Dutch, sometimes in French, Yiddish, and a little Russian (upon request). I also rework and translate songs, such as “Jolene” (Dolly Parton) and “Dance Me to the End of Love” (Leonard Cohen) into Dutch.
